Information You Enter
Search Terms
When a visitor types a name, county, state, or similar query into a search tool, that query is sent to the third-party provider that powers the tool. Humphreys County Inmate Population does not keep a separate local log of those search terms on its own systems.
Messages
If a visitor sends an email or contact message, the information in that message may be kept long enough to review it and respond. It is not shared outside the organization unless a legal obligation requires disclosure.
Information Collected Automatically
Normal web-server, analytics, advertising, and security tools may collect technical details when pages load.
- IP address or approximate network location.
- Browser name, version, and language settings.
- Device type, screen information, and operating system.
- Pages viewed and approximate time spent on pages.
- Referring website or search page, when available.
- Date and time of visits.
Cookies
Cookies and similar technologies help measure site use, remember basic preferences, support ads, and spot technical problems. Browser settings can block or delete cookies, although some tools may load or behave differently when cookies are disabled.
How Information Is Used
- To keep the site available, readable, and reasonably fast.
- To send search requests to the partner service a visitor chooses to use.
- To understand which Humphreys County pages, facility links, and record topics are useful.
- To diagnose broken pages, failed links, browser errors, or security problems.
- To display advertising that may be based on general interests or prior browsing activity.
Outside Websites and Public Records
This site links to sheriff and county pages, MDOC, Mississippi SAVIN/VINE, Mississippi Electronic Courts, the Mississippi Ethics Commission Public Records Act page, BOP, ICE, and partner search tools. After a visitor clicks away, the destination site's own privacy policy and terms control its collection and use of information.
Advertising partners may use their own cookies or identifiers to measure ads or show interest-based advertising across websites. That activity occurs on their systems, not inside a Humphreys County government database.
Who May Receive Information
Personal information is not sold as a standalone list. It may be handled by limited service providers or disclosed when required by law.
- Search partners that process a query submitted through their tool.
- Analytics providers used to measure traffic and site performance.
- Advertising networks that serve or measure ads.
- Law enforcement, courts, agencies, or other government bodies when a valid subpoena, court order, or other legal process requires it.
Security
Reasonable security practices are used to protect the site and messages received through it. No internet-connected service can be guaranteed breach-proof, and no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
